Carnage as Europeans refuse to take their medicine

LONDON: Europe's political centre is starting to crumble. Elected governments have already been swept away - or replaced by EU technocrats without a vote, indeed to prevent a vote - in every eurozone state where unemployment has reached double-digits: Spain (23.6 per cent), Greece (21 per cent), Portugal (15 per cent), Ireland (14.7 per cent), and Slovakia (14 per cent).

The political carnage has been striking. Ireland's Fianna Fail, creator of the Irish free state, has lost every seat in Dublin. Greece's Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) - torch-bearers of Greek democracy since the colonels - has fallen to 14 per cent in the polls and faces ruin next month.

The green light bulb insanity

How to clean up the new energy efficient light bulbs without killing yourself, costs for the economy, and other government-imposed lunacy.
Congress, in its infinite wisdom, has banned Thomas Edison’s masterpiece. Stores have to stop selling incandescent light bulbs in 2014. But if you are one of the folks who have embraced the new, more expensive, energy-efficient cfl bulbs, you might want to reconsider.
The cfl light bulb, besides looking like a socket with a curly fry attached to it, is actually very deadly.
In short: Don’t sit near one, breath the air surrounding one—or worse yet, break one.
Yup, in the name of saving the environment, the feds are destroying the environment, and endangering people in the process. The Telegraphreports on the energy-saving light bulbs:

Europeans will never accept a federal banking system

Hope springs eternal when it comes to efforts to save the euro.

Blue lights reminiscent of the European flag and euro signs are projected on the Pont Neuf bridge over the Seine river in Paris
The eurozone is finding it bad enough dealing with new, internationally-imposed capital requirements, which are widely thought unnecessary and economically damaging in Germany, France and Italy Photo: AP
The latest crackpot idea for shoring up Europe's monetary union, much discussed at last week's spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund and now widely promoted by eurocrats, is the establishment of a federal banking system, with a single framework for regulation, bailouts, deposit insurance, supervision and resolution.
There is, of course, nothing particularly new in the proposal; for many economists, it's long been seen as an essential precondition for successful monetary union, at least as important as the federalisation of fiscal and political systems. The one cannot work without the others.
The dollar, for instance, couldn't function effectively without a federal banking system, if only for this rather obvious reason; many US banks are of a size that would overwhelm the ability of the individual states in which they are based to underwrite them. Take the example of Citigroup, with assets at the last count of nearly $2 trillion. If it had been solely Citi's home state of New York that had been responsible, Citi would have taken New York down with it when it went bust in the sub-prime banking crisis three years ago as surely as the Irish banks have sunk Ireland, and Spanish banks are now bankrupting Spain.

Impoverishment Made in Germany

2012/04/23

BERLIN/MADRID/ATHENS

(Own report) - The German austerity dictate is leading to new economic and social turbulence in the indebted counties of the southern Euro-zone. Spain, compelled in late March to make financial cutbacks totaling 27 billion Euros, must extend its austerity program to a total of 37 billion Euros. An increasing number of debtors cannot repay their credits on time. With their backlog of 143,8 billion Euros, the country's banks, in fact, can only refinance themselves through the European Central Bank. Italy is also slipping into the downward spin of cutbacks, growing unemployment, decreasing purchasing power and increasing social spending and, like Greece a few years ago, must already readjust its savings goals. Greece has been fully drawn into this development. Last year, 68,000 enterprises went bankrupt - the volume of incoming orders has dramatically shrunk. A high number of bankruptcies is also expected this year. This offers German enterprises good opportunities for acquiring the fillet morsels of state enterprises at rock-bottom prices.

Introduction

KGB Operation Barack Obama

By Mikhail Kryzhanovsky

Chapter 1 . Obama is KGB illegal spy.

On August 4, 1961, Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.

You know, if there's something very wrong with someone's birth certificate and if there's an indication that this someone used a birth certificate of a newborn child (Virginia Sunahara) who died at birth or soon after birth, we have to talk about the methods Russian intelligence (SVR, a former KGB) and its illegal espionage department. We have to talk about the illegal spy "documentation process" - using birth certificates to get legal documents in USA - SS#, driver license, passport.

Now, let's reconstruct Obama's biography as I see it with my 30 years of espionage experience.

Illegal spy cover story works best if it's a mix of actual and fake facts. "Obama" (let's call him John Smith) was a child of a student from Kenya who studied in Moscow and dated a Russian girl. Such kids in Russia were often unwanted by both partners and were raised and educated at a special school. Like real Obama, John Smith was born in 1961 and, like him, graduated from high school in 1979. KGB paid attention to a very smart young man. Smith was Intelligence Institute student in 1979-1981 in Moscow, not far from "Cosmos" Hotel. There are couple of buildings in the area and I got intelligence education myself in one of them back in 1987 (15 Yaroslavskaya Street, Moscow Russia).

George Soros and the Bundesbank’s Patriotic Putsch

George Soros is taking on the Bundesbank
George Soros has launched all-out war against the Bundesbank.
In his latest Le Monde interview he said that if he were still an active investor, he would now "bet against the euro", at least until there is a change in European leadership or policy.
The euro threatens to destroy the European Union and, with the best of intentions, the leaders are leading Europe to its ruin by trying to impose inappropriate rules.
The introduction of the euro has led to divergence instead of bringing about convergence. The most fragile countries of the eurozone have discovered that they are in a Third World situation, as if they were indebted in a foreign currency, with a crucial effect that there is a real risk of default. Trying to make them respect rules that don’t work just makes matters worse. Sadly, the authorities don’t understand this.
Mario Draghi has launched extraordinary measures with his €1 trillion injection of liquidity through three-year loans. But the effect of this operation has been broken by the counter-attack of the Bundesbank.
Watching the growth of the ECB’s balance sheet, the Bundesbank has realised that it risks heavy loses if the euro blows up and is therefore opposed to the (LTRO) policy. Let us hope that this does not become a self-fulfilling prophesy.
It follows a Süddeutsche Zeitung interview last Friday in which he accused "Bundesbank bureaucrats" of standing ready to smash the euro, exceeding their constitutional and political authority.

Euro Zoned Out!

Almost Midnight in the West

Those who follow Mohamed are ruthless to the unbelievers... Koran 48:29--- Join the Crusade against Islam!

Dear oh dear oh dear. That eurozoner quagmire just won't stay solved if you will forgive the mixed metaphor.  Things are still messed up even though, apparently, a plan to cut borrowing has been implemented.

This should have worked.
Overspending was/is the problem, so overspending less should be the answer.  And stability should be established.

Alas, the staunch supporters of Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel's plan are falling like Obama's support among folk with IQs higher than room temperature.

The Netherland's PM, Mark Rutte, threw in the towel in Monday. Rutte even tossed in the towels for his entire cabinet! France is about to unelect Mr Carla Bruni.

No telling what the Dutch will do. The far right parties voted against less spending, less overspending in truth. No one, as in NO ONE, is really cutting back, just cutting back from way too much to almost way too much.

The French are about to elect themselves a communist, no worse, a Socalist, which is a commie without the guts to tell you he's a commie. Francois Hollande, if elected, will spend France into oblivion.  And the French will love it. Truffles and champagne all 'round,  mon ami!

The EUrozoners don't really get it. To be fair, neither do most Americans. All of us are for balanced budgets, blah, blah, blah but not if our particular ox is to be gored!

EMP and the Shield Act

FINANCIAL SENSE

The best investment is the one that saves your life. House Bill 668 is called the Shield Act.  Without passage of the Shield Act millions of Americans will remain at risk in the event of an EMP attack. What is an EMP attack? A nuclear warhead detonated at high altitude produces gamma rays that damage electrical infrastructure on the ground. In July 1962 the United States tested a 1.44 megaton bomb at an altitude of 400 kilometers in the mid-Pacific. More than 800 miles away, in Hawaii, 300 streetlights were knocked out, alarm systems were triggered, and a telephone company microwave unit was damaged. If the test had been closer to Hawaii, the effects could have been devastating.
In 1962 the Soviet Union carried out three nuclear tests, specifically to learn what altitudes produce the most effective EMP. To produce a more powerful EMP effect, a nuclear bomb must be detonated in close proximity to where the planetary electromagnetic field is strong. Typically, that means detonation at an altitude of 30 to 200 kilometers. Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) creates energy that enters electronic devices and power lines on the ground, causing massive power surges. Transformers blow, electronic devices are fried.

John Swinton on the independence of the press

Variations on the quote below have been misattributed as a response to a toast, by John Swinton, as "the former Chief of Staff at the New York Times", before the New York Press Club in 1953. However, research reveals that Swinton (1829-1901), after moving to New York, wrote an occasional article for the New York Times and was hired on a regular basis in 1860 as head of the editorial staff. Afterward holding this position throughout the Civil War, he left the paper in 1870 and became active in the labor struggles of the day. He later served eight years in the same position on the New York Sun and later published a weekly labor sheet, John Swinton's Paper.

The remarks were apparently made by Swinton, then the preeminent New York journalist, probably one night in 1880. Swinton was the guest of honour at a banquet given him by the leaders of his craft. Someone who knew neither the press nor Swinton offered a toast to the independent press. Swinton outraged his colleagues by replying:
There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it.
There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.
The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?
We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes.
(Source: Labor's Untold Story, by Richard O. Boyer and Herbert M. Morais, published by United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers of America, NY, 1955/1979.)
Despite the misattribution, the quote raises the issue of whether there is not continuing truth in Swinton's remarks, and whether some candid journalist might not be able to fairly say similar things today. Anyone who has associated closely with journalists can hardly avoid finding a ring of truth in such words, and the best evidence lies in the actual product of journalists and how well, or how poorly, it both agrees with and covers what actually happens, especially involving such things as corruption and abuse of power.

For more on the misattribution, see John Swinton - Yes, He Said It, But...

“Your” Car Won’t Be Beginning in 2015

Eric Peters Autos
After a certain point, it’s not paranoia.
The latest brick in the wall is the predictably named “Moving Ahead For Progress in the 21st Century Act,” also known as Senate Bill 1813. (See here for the full text of the bill itself; the relevant section is 31406.) This legislation – already passed by the Senate and likely to be passed by the House – will impose a legal requirement that all new cars made beginning with the 2015 models be fitted with so-called Event Data Recorders (EDRs). These are the “black boxes” you may have read about that store data about how you drive – including whether you wear a seat belt and how fast you drive – ostensibly for purposes of post-accident investigation.
These EDRs are not new. GM and other automakers have been installing them in new cars for years – in GM’s case, since the late 1990s. What’s new is the proposed federal mandate, which would make itillegal to not have one – or (in all likelihood) to remove or disable one in a car required to have the device.
The question arises: why?
Several possibilities come to mind:

Katyn 2. Polish Investigation Commission: ''By killing Polish elite, Russia declared war on Poland''

Publication time: Today at 12:19 Emirate time
Polish opposition newspaper Dziennik reports on further developments around the events surrounding the Russian terrorist attack on Polish presidential plane on April 10, 2010:

"When the elite is killed, when athe head of state is killed, this is the declaration of war", said (the chairman of a Parliamentary Commission on the Investigation of the Smolensk Disaster - KC) Antoni Macierewicz at a meeting with residents of the Polish town of Krosno. He also expects more attacks on Poland to be carried out in "a year or two, or in five years".

"I understand what you want from me, you want that I present the results of our commission. And you're right. Unfortunately, it is true that, except for the viewers of the (Catholic - KC) TV station Trvam and the listeners of the (Catholic - KC) radio station Radio Maria, many people have no access to this information", began his presentation Antoni Macierewicz.

During his meeting with the residents of Krosno in Capuchin Monastery, the Polish parliamentarian told how it was possible to create the Parliamentary Commission, and why these theories are not taken seriously.

"With brutal attacks from the media and politicians they are trying to forbid the people to think, to speak and to investigate the true cause of these events that really happened in the inhuman country (of Russia - KC). You cannot even open your mouth without being immediately attacked with slander and mockings", complained Mr. Macierewicz. He pointed out that the crash was not accidental".

"There was no case in the past history that a country's president died in a plane crash. There were two cases, but in both of them, a deliberate attack is assumed. But there was no case that when a country's president died accidentally", Mr. Macierewicz said.

Why Americans distrust the EU and are growing more Eurosceptic

Ordinary Americans can see that the European project is failing
Ordinary Americans can see that the European project is failing
I’ve just returned to Washington from the Midwestern state of Minnesota, where I gave a talk to conservative academics, businessmen and students from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, on the decline of the European Project. The audience, I’m pleased to say, was deeply Eurosceptic, and horrified at the prospect of the European social model crossing the Atlantic. After all, the United States is built upon the foundations of individual liberty, economic freedom and democratic accountability – everything the EU is not.
The European Union’s big-government approach hasn’t worked in Europe, and it certainly won’t work in America. The Minnesota audience had a view of the EU that would not have looked out of place at a meeting of grassroots Tory activists in Buckinghamshire or Surrey. When it comes to attitudes towards Europe, Middle America increasingly resembles Middle England.

Néolibéralisme et euthanasie des classes moyennes

l'info nationaliste
